Vietnam successfully defended its overall title at the 10th Asian Pencak Silat Championships 2026 after finishing with an impressive haul of 16 gold, seven silver and two bronze medals. Held in Đồng Nai from July 17 to 22, the tournament featured both Tanding (combat) and Seni (artistic performance) events, with Indonesia finishing second overall and Malaysia securing third place.
During the closing ceremony, organisers praised the high level of competition and the strong spirit of sportsmanship displayed by athletes throughout the championship. Officials also commended Vietnam’s organisation of the event, highlighting its professional planning, smooth operations and warm hospitality, which helped create an ideal environment for competitors from across Asia.
According to the International Pencak Silat Federation (PERSILAT), the successful hosting of the championship has further strengthened Vietnam’s reputation as a capable organiser of major international sporting events.
