Hanoi will host TECHFEST Vietnam 2026 from November 13 to 15, bringing startups, investors, technology companies and government representatives together for a major innovation event. The event will be held around Hoan Kiem Lake and will use an open-air format designed to attract wider public participation. Organizers expect between 50,000 and 60,000 people to attend, with the program including startup exhibitions, technology demonstrations, investment meetings and a national startup competition.
TECHFEST has been held annually since 2015 and has become a platform for Vietnamese startups to present products and connect with businesses and investors. This year’s event will focus strongly on practical technology, with demonstrations covering artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, the metaverse and agricultural technology. Startups from 34 provinces and cities are expected to present products, giving businesses outside Hanoi an opportunity to reach investors and potential partners.
The event will also include pitching sessions, where startup founders can present their business ideas and products to investors and other members of the technology sector. Investment matchmaking will be another major part of the program, with organizers seeking to connect startups with sources of capital and companies that may support commercial development.
The event is being organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in coordination with the Hanoi People’s Committee. The government has placed greater emphasis on innovation and digital transformation in recent years, with technology viewed as an important part of Vietnam’s economic development. Artificial intelligence is one of the main areas receiving attention, as Vietnamese companies develop AI products for businesses, government services and consumers.
The event will also highlight the Internet of Things and smart technology. These systems can connect machines and devices while allowing businesses to collect and use data. Agricultural technology will also have a place at the event, as Vietnam has a large agricultural sector where technology can be used to improve production, monitoring and supply chains.
The open-air format is intended to make TECHFEST more accessible to the public. Instead of limiting the event to traditional conference spaces, organizers will use several public locations around Hoan Kiem Lake. Universities and research institutions will also take part, providing knowledge, research and technical skills to startups.
Businesses and investment funds will be able to explore new products and potential partnerships, while government agencies will present challenges that technology companies could help solve. This approach aims to connect innovation with real economic needs. Startups can gain access to customers and markets, while larger companies can discover new technology and possible business opportunities.
The event will also feature seminars on different areas of innovation. These discussions are expected to cover technology, investment and the development of Vietnam’s startup ecosystem. TECHFEST has grown since its launch in 2015, and the government has continued to use the event to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.
The 2026 edition comes as Vietnam is trying to increase its use of digital technology across the economy. Local governments are also developing online public services and digital systems. For Hanoi, hosting TECHFEST provides another opportunity to promote the capital as a technology and startup center.
The November event will bring together participants from across Vietnam and international partners. The September 22 announcement gives startups and investors several weeks to prepare, allowing businesses to develop products, arrange meetings and prepare investment presentations before the event.
