Vietnam is strengthening its commitment to artificial intelligence by promoting a collaborative ecosystem that connects government agencies, universities, research institutions, and businesses. Speaking at a forum in Hà Nội, Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Quốc Dũng emphasized that AI development should be driven by coordinated partnerships rather than isolated efforts, with each sector playing a distinct role in innovation and technology advancement.
The Deputy Prime Minister outlined five strategic priorities to accelerate AI development, including improving governance and regulatory frameworks, expanding secure digital infrastructure and national data platforms, developing a highly skilled AI workforce, strengthening cooperation between academia and industry, and enhancing international collaboration. He stressed that AI should be developed responsibly, with strong cybersecurity, data protection, and human-centered innovation at its core.
Experts at the forum also highlighted the growing role of universities as hubs for research, innovation, and technology transfer while calling for closer cooperation with businesses to transform research into practical applications. Participants agreed that a well-connected AI ecosystem will be essential to supporting Vietnam’s digital transformation, improving global competitiveness, and building a sustainable innovation-driven economy.
