The Việt Nam Red Cross Society (VRCS) has outlined its key priorities for the 2026–2031 term as delegates gathered in Hà Nội for the 12th National Congress. The event marks an important step in shaping the future direction of one of the country’s leading humanitarian organizations.
The congress opened its first session on July 27 and brought together nearly 500 official delegates from across the country. The participants represent more than 5.6 million Red Cross officials, members, volunteers, and youth who support humanitarian activities nationwide.
The two-day congress is being held as part of activities leading up to the 80th anniversary of the Việt Nam Red Cross Society, which will be celebrated in 2026. Delegates are reviewing achievements from the previous term while setting goals and strategies for the next five years.
During the opening session, representatives discussed plans to strengthen humanitarian work, improve organizational efficiency, and expand community support programs. The congress is also reviewing proposed amendments to the society’s charter and preparing to adopt a new resolution that will guide operations during the upcoming term.
A major focus of the congress is the development of a stronger and more professional organization. Leaders said the society aims to improve its effectiveness while maintaining its role as a key humanitarian organization entrusted with important responsibilities by the Party and State.
The organization plans to continue serving as a bridge between donors, volunteers, and communities in need.
