Vietnamese General Secretary and President To Lam has left Hanoi for an official visit to Japan, accompanied by his wife and a high-ranking government delegation. The four-day visit began on Sunday, November 8, at the invitation of the Japanese government.
The delegation includes senior members of Vietnam’s political leadership and key government officials. Among them are representatives responsible for national defence, public security, foreign affairs, finance, industry and trade.
The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for both countries to strengthen their relationship and discuss areas of shared interest. Vietnam and Japan have developed close cooperation in trade, investment, technology, education and regional security.
Economic cooperation remains an important part of the relationship. Japanese companies have invested in Vietnam’s manufacturing, infrastructure and technology sectors, while Vietnam has become an important partner in Japan’s regional economic strategy.
The visit also comes as both countries seek to expand cooperation in a changing regional and international environment. Discussions are expected to focus on maintaining strong political ties and improving practical cooperation between government agencies and businesses.
The presence of senior officials from several major ministries highlights the wide range of issues involved in the visit.
The trip is part of Vietnam’s continued diplomatic engagement with important international partners. Both countries are expected to use the meetings to explore further opportunities for cooperation and strengthen their long-term partnership.
