A major forum on digital financial security has highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence in protecting Vietnam’s banking and financial services. The event brought together officials and industry representatives to discuss new technology and the security risks linked to digital payments.
The Vietnam Digital Financial Security Forum and Exhibition 2026 opened in Ho Chi Minh City on November 6. It focused on how artificial intelligence and digital trust can help build stronger protection for the country’s financial sector.
The event presented solutions involving artificial intelligence, big data, extended reality and robotics. These technologies are increasingly being used across banking, insurance, securities and financial technology services.
A senior official from the Ministry of Public Security said that new technologies create major opportunities for financial services but also bring more complex security challenges. Cyberattacks and financial fraud remain important concerns as more people and businesses move towards digital transactions.
The State Bank of Vietnam’s monitoring system has connected with nearly 100 financial institutions. It has identified more than 668,000 bank accounts, e-wallets and payment intermediary accounts showing signs of legal violations.
Officials highlighted the need to make cybersecurity a central part of digital transformation. They also called for stronger information sharing between government agencies and law enforcement bodies.
The forum placed particular attention on developing domestic technology and using artificial intelligence to detect and prevent cybercrime. The discussions reflect Vietnam’s effort to expand digital financial services while improving trust and security for users.
